Ari Raena
Ari Raena is an artistic arachnid. Like how a spider delicately spins an intricate web, Ari utilizes line and texture in her work to craft an image that not only tells a story but also elicits emotion from the viewer. Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, Ari’s mother used to tell her, “You know we’re almost home when we see the pine trees.” The pine trees seem to have found their home in the background of Ari’s drawings as well, sometimes as a comfort and sometimes as an omen of misfortune. Her work explores themes of generational trauma and isolation and is often autobiographical. She is currently on track to receive her BA in studio art from Eastern Washington university in 2025.
